Comments; August 1887, the Cipher Manuscripts were bought from Mackenzie’s wife by Rev. A.F.A. Woodford, for William Wynn Westcott. Written in German, then encoded with Johannes Trithemius's cypher, they described a series of initiations and degrees which may have come from the Order of the Golden and Rosy Cross in Germany through Johann Friedrich Falk a member at the Kabbalistic College of London with close ties to the SRIA. Records from that Order were in the London Masonic Hall, but dealt more with Alchemy than Qabalah. It may have provided a contact for Magical Order's sister Masonic side, the Order of the Asiatic Brethren. However, some of the actual teachings seem more reminiscent of the French line of Rosicrucians, like Fraternitas Rosae Crucis (FRC) AKA Fiat Lucis, the Society of Light, Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor ; The manuscript look like Mackenzie's handwriting, and became the foundation of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn ; Freemason; Rosicrucian; Cryptographer; Qabalist; Alchemy; hieroglyphs; Resources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_R._H._Mackenzie; THE MAGICIANS OF THE GOLDEN DAWN by Ellic Howe; http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Masonic-Cyclopaedia-Part-v/dp/0766126102; http://www.librarything.com/author/mackenziekennethrh; http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-marvelous-adventures-and-rare-conceits-of-master-tyll-owlglass-kenneth-r-h-mackenzie/1022321383?ean=9780548316405&itm=1&usri=9780548316405 ;
